From Zero to Resilient - NIS 2

How to Build Sustainable Cybersecurity in Public Institutions

From Zero to Resilient – Over 650 Participants at the Cybersecurity Webinar for Public Institutions

On September 4, 2025, the webinar “From Zero to Resilient: How to Build Sustainable Cybersecurity in Public Institutions” was held, organized by the National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) in partnership with Expertware, as part of the European project SIEMBIOT.

The event saw remarkable participation: 665 attendees out of over 1,000 registered, confirming the high interest in strengthening cyber resilience in the public sector and the need for practical solutions for institutions in Romania.

The webinar featured contributions from cybersecurity experts in Romania, who highlighted current challenges and concrete steps to enhance the capacity of public institutions:

  • Dan Cîmpean, Director of DNSC

  • Gabriel Dinu, Deputy Director of DNSC

  • Cătălin Cristescu, Project Manager of SIEMBIOT, Cybersecurity Manager at DNSC

  • Tiberiu Baraboi, Co-founder & CEO of Expertware

Although the large number of participants caused some technical limitations, the active engagement and questions raised demonstrated the strong need for sharing best practices and immediately applicable resources. The webinar was dedicated to representatives of public institutions and authorities, IT managers, and cybersecurity specialists from across the country. The discussions were moderated by Valeria Popescu, Senior Cybersecurity Coordinator at DNSC.
