NIS2 obligations and opportunities through the SIEMBIOT platform

The National Cybersecurity Directorate (DNSC), in partnership with Expertware Romania, is organizing the webinar “Cybersecurity in Healthcare – NIS2 obligations and opportunities through the SIEMBIOT platform” as part of the European SIEMBIOT project. The online event will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00, via Microsoft Teams.

Participation is open to public institutions as well as private healthcare companies interested in strengthening their cybersecurity and aligning with the requirements of the NIS2 Directive, in the context of protecting patient data and ensuring the continuity of medical services.

Why Cybersecurity in Healthcare Matters

Healthcare entities face an increased level of exposure to cyber risks. Patient management systems, medical applications and network-connected equipment contribute to the complexity of the IT infrastructure. The growing number of ransomware attacks targeting the healthcare sector, unauthorized access to sensitive data, and the difficulty of quickly identifying suspicious activity are among the main challenges these institutions face. At the same time, aligning with the NIS2 Directive and Law no. 155/2024 requires the adoption of additional measures for monitoring and managing security risks.

In this context, continuous monitoring and 360-degree visibility across the infrastructure become essential for the early identification of security incidents.

What Participants Will Learn

During the webinar, participants will explore practical measures and solutions for strengthening cybersecurity in medical institutions. The live demo will present the SIEMBIOT platform and highlight its integrated capabilities for compliance, reporting and security process automation, as well as its audit and monitoring functions designed for the healthcare environment.

Event agenda:
  1. DNSC – Opening and presentation of the SIEMBIOT project

  2. ExpertwareSIEMBIOT platform presentation (live demo)

  3. Expertware – Cyber maturity assessment and steps toward NIS2 compliance

  4. DNSC & Expertware – Conclusions and Q&A session

After the presentations, time will be allocated for a dedicated Q&A session, during which participants will be able to discuss concrete situations encountered in their daily activity and receive practical recommendations from cybersecurity specialists.

Useful materials: The presentations delivered during the webinar will be available on this page after the event concludes.

The webinar is for:

  • public and private hospitals and clinics;

  • medical networks and healthcare service providers;

  • public health authorities;

In the context of the accelerated digitalization of medical services and the growing number of cyberattacks that can directly affect patient safety, strengthening security measures and aligning with the new legal requirements become essential for protecting medical data and maintaining the continuity of medical services.

About SIEMBIOT

The SIEMBIOT project is implemented by the National Cybersecurity Directorate (DNSC), in partnership with Expertware Romania, and is funded by the European Commission under the DIGITAL-ECCC-2022-CYBER-03 call.

The initiative aims to strengthen national and regional resilience against cyberattacks by supporting organizations in monitoring and managing security risks, including critical sectors such as healthcare.

The SIEMBIOT platform integrates, in a modular way, SIEM, SOAR, Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), vulnerability management and incident response automation capabilities. The system collects, anonymizes and aggregates network security events in real time and provides 360-degree visibility across the infrastructure.

By integrating threat intelligence and automated analysis processes, SIEMBIOT helps IT teams identify risks more quickly, prioritize vulnerabilities and reduce the time needed to investigate incidents. For medical institutions, these capabilities support the protection of patient data, the continuous operation of essential IT systems, and audit and reporting processes, as well as alignment with NIS2 requirements.

The platform can be tested free of charge for 90 days by interested organizations.
