The National Directorate for Cyber Security (DNSC), in partnership with Expertware Romania, is organizing a webinar on developing cybersecurity skills, raising awareness of the cyber domain, and leveraging research and innovation opportunities. The online event will take place on Friday, March 3, 2026, between 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, on the Microsoft Teams platform.
Participation is free of charge and is addressed to institutions and structures involved in the educational, administrative, and technical processes, interested in developing competencies in the field of cybersecurity and leveraging academic and research opportunities.

Why Cybersecurity in Education Is Important
The accelerated digitalization of the educational system has brought significant benefits, but also new challenges related to cybersecurity. Educational platforms and the large volume of managed data have turned educational institutions into targets for cyberattacks.
At the same time, the shortage of cybersecurity specialists continues to grow, and developing skills in this field has become a global priority. In this context, the educational environment plays a key role in preparing the next generation of professionals, as well as in increasing awareness of development opportunities in this domain.
What Participants Will Learn
During the webinar, the educational component of the SIEMBIOT project – the Cyber Academy e-learning platform – will be presented. The platform was developed for the continuous training of academic staff, students, and high school seniors (17–19 years old).

Cyber Academy – The Educational Component of the SIEMBIOT Project
Cyber Academy is the educational component of the European SIEMBIOT project and was created to help educational institutions develop real cybersecurity competencies. The platform provides access to anonymized data from real-life situations and the possibility to analyze security queries on authentic datasets. It is divided into three main areas: Knowledge Hub, Cyber Lab, and Brainstorming Zone.
Knowledge Hub includes over 30 courses organized by level (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) and focused on three main directions:
Cybersecurity standards and best practices
Security of devices and online activities
Cyber threats and protection methods
Courses can be studied simultaneously, with the option to pause and resume later. Each course is structured into relevant chapters, and each chapter contains all the necessary information for theoretical preparation. At the end of each course, there is a quiz section available to assess acquired knowledge.
Cyber Lab includes practical examples that explain cyber risks in a user-friendly way and show how security incidents can be prevented or managed. Enrolled students have the opportunity to experience working in a SOC (Security Operations Center) environment, where they can:
Test and analyze security queries on real datasets
Learn to use DQL (Dashboard Query Language), a simplified language for efficient data filtering and searching
Explore and experiment in a safe environment without the risk of affecting the system
Visualize anonymized real-time data collected from tens of thousands of active devices
Brainstorming Zone is the collaborative space where participants can create scenarios and work together to generate new detection rules, exchange ideas, and collaborate on cybersecurity-related topics within the platform activities.
The platform supports the development of practical skills required by the industry, stimulates academic collaboration, and can serve as a foundation for research projects, the development of new educational resources, and academic initiatives in Cybersecurity & AI Engineering.
